The Cross Valley Credit Union is a recent new construction project, built on a small greenfield site at the corner of Spring St. and Pine St. in Wilkes-Barre, PA. The site was made useable thanks to a large block retaining wall which spans the North and West sides of the lot. This retaining wall opened up the small lot just enough to fit the 1,600 square foot facility, along with three drive-through teller lanes, all required stormwater facilities, and parking. The commercial building is outfit with a full basement to maximize the building footprint. The structure comprises standard CMU foundation walls, a structural steel superstructure, and metal stud framing. Unique to this project are the reinforced concrete countertops and use of metal which add to an industrial feel within the space. The countertops were formed to fit custom millwork and built-in place by Milnes for the teller stations.
