Gerrity’s Supermarkets is a local family-owned chain of grocery stores with operations throughout northeastern Pennsylvania. When they decided to upgrade one of their busiest locations, the West Pittston store, they chose to partner with Milnes. Milnes provided complete Design-Build services, incorporating the Gerrity's family concept into a fully fleshed out design that stayed within the project’s budget goals.
The project consisted of a complete renovation of the existing West Pittston store, an expansion into an adjacent vacant space, as well as a complete façade renovation. This work took place in several phases to allow the store to stay 100% operational throughout construction. The Milnes team worked closely with Gerrity’s staff to ensure they were able to provide their customers the services they expected in a safe and clean environment.
Detailed planning and project execution was paramount, as several major portions of the store were relocated per the final design. This project is an example of why Design-Build, done right, is the best way to execute a tedious project.
